Knowledge Organisers
Knowledge organisers detail the key knowledge the children will be learning in Science, History, Geography, Art and Design, Design Technology and Religion and World Views. They are used by the children as a reference, include images to help their understanding, and make links to their previous learning. Each knowledge organiser includes a glossary of ten key words which have been specifically chosen by the subject leader to build on previous learning and develop the children’s knowledge. Teachers make links to the knowledge organisers in lessons through use of the vocabulary and through spaced learning, for example, using them as the basis for a low stakes quiz, which helps retention of the key knowledge.
