Art and design – making clay sculptures
As part of our wider curriculum we have been exploring clay over the Autumn term.
The children have worked in their colour groups to complete a smaller group activity. After going on a hunt around school to gather lots of natural resources, like, sticks, twigs and leaves; they then went into the well-being garden. The children then manipulated the clay, first warming it in their hands and then moulding it into shape. The children then added in their natural resources to create their clay sculpture.
William – “I enjoyed finding all the things. I found some leaves.”
Imogen – “We collected leaves and put them on our clay. I made an acorn.”
