Year 6 celebrate Black History Month

In our PSHE, we have been discussing Black History Month. We began by talking about the word ‘discrimination,’ what this meant, and how it relates to different people. We then focused on some well-known BAME people, both from the past, and present, and considered their successes. To take this learning further, we all went home and researched a famous black figure. We then shared these ideas as a class. These lessons made us realise the importance of treating everyone equally, no matter the colour of their skin.
