In our school, we follow the Talbot writing process. We begin by gathering ideas for our own writing using a stimulus. For our recent suspense writing, this was a video about Whitby Abbey. We used this to imagine what it would be like to approach the abbey at night, and to consider what different senses we would be experiencing. We then wrote a draft, trying to include as many suspense techniques as we could. Next, we edited and improved our work with the help of a peer-assessment partner. Finally, we wrote out a final neat draft in handwriting pen. This whole process led to excellent results!
