In English, we have been learning all about poetry.
We learned about the features of poems: similes, alliteration, onomatopoeia and rhyme and then spotted these features in a range of poems all about autumn.
We also picked out some of our favourite words and phrases that could be used later in our own autumn poems. Following this, we watched some of our favourite poets performing their own poems; to get ideas for how to use our voices, facial expressions and body language.
Then, we worked in small teams to learn one of the autumn poems from the collection and enjoyed adding actions and using our voices in different ways to perform the poems to our class.
Miss Marsden was very impressed with our enthusiasm and expression!
