Year 2 celebrate Black History Month
In year two, we have really enjoyed our assemblies about Black History Month and why this is so important for us to celebrate. We have talked about difficult ideas such as injustice and inequality; and how we at Talbot set a brilliant example for celebrating diversity and always treating each other with mutual respect.
This year we encouraged children to continue their learning by completing a home learning task to celebrate an inspirational person from a black, Asian, or other ethnic minority background. The children have really enjoyed sharing their projects, bringing in books to share, and sharing their online learning as well. It has been inspirational to see how much our children care about equality and have taken part in our Black History Month activities with so much enthusiasm.
