It has been a very exciting year in Reception, with our new classroom
along with a spacious cloakroom and toilets and welcoming three
Reception classes, along with Miss Christy to the Reception team. It was a
very busy start getting the classrooms ready in two days but we did it!
New Outdoor Area
In October work began on our new outdoor area, we eagerly
watched the builders complete the project from our new classroom
window. We are really enjoying using it and developing our play
with all the natural things we have in the area, from building dens
to word and number hunts,
to cooking some wonderful
recipes in our mud kitchen
or cooking on a homemade
camp fire. In the winter we found
the new building blocks covered in
ice and worked together creating
our own igloo!
Recently we have
worked together to develop our
bug hotel where we hope we will
find lots of bugs!
Music, Music, Music!
We have welcomed Mrs Davenport into Reception each week, voluntarily and had great fun at our weekly
singing. We even prepared a song with her for the Easter assembly; we were very brave standing up and
singing in front of everyone!
In Reception we started the new year right... we decided to keep fit! We have carried this on throughout the
year. In the morning all 90 children in Reception have been going for a run (as much as we can) to help get
our brains ready to learn. We have got faster and faster and fitter and fitter every time!
