Google Expedition

On Friday 25th November a man from Google Expeditions came to school to show us some very clever glasses. They could see into places like space!

First, we went into the hall and sat on the benches. Second, we were each given a pair of glasses. We peered into them and on the screen it said, 'ready'.

We went to places I might not ever go to in my life e.g. the Great Barrier Reef. I thought it was really scary at some parts like when we went under the sea to see a bull shark (the most dangerous shark in the world!). I also thought it was fun.

We were also taught some really interesting facts, like all about the Incas. I liked going under the sea the best because when I grow up I want to be a marine biologist. I also liked looking at the different types of coral in the Great Barrier Reef.

Here are some quotes from KS2 pupils about their Google Experiences:

“I enjoyed the part where we were in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. It was like we were scuba diving; there were loads of amazing creatures like bull sharks. Did you know that sharks only attack upwards?” Archie N

“I really enjoyed it because we went to places that we may never go to in our lives e.g. space. I liked going under the sea the best because I saw fish and different types of coral.”  Isla

“It made you feel as if you were there as you looked at some amazing landmarks. It felt as if you were swimming through the Great Barrier Reef. It was an amazing experience.” Jasmine

It felt like a dream, definitely one of the best experiences of my life. I saw things I would probably never see in person.”  Edie

“I enjoyed the Great Barrier Reef visit because I love fish and whales. I strongly recommend these glasses. Wherever you go, it feels like you are actually there!” Freddie W

“I loved the part when we went to outer space because it was like I was an astronaut. It almost felt like you were falling to earth!”  Ben
