This year’s Summer Fair was possibly the hottest and most successful of all time. On the day itself, the PTA raised an incredible £6840. However, much of this was match funded by Barclays Bank to make a grand total of £8,500! Many local businesses also sponsored the raffle, providing an incredible range of prizes.
The fair’s theme this year was robots and there were a number of unusual visitors. This included an enormous, golden Dalek and a smaller, bright green alien who was arrested by the police. Many activities also had a robotic theme and with many children dressing up and taking part in a robot parade.
Other activities included: face painting, mehndi stalls, splat the rat (which used a wooden bat and is not to be confused with splat the teacher, which used soft sponges), a coconut shy, pop the water balloon on your mate’s head stall, beat the Y6 goalie, a huge inflatable slide and much more. There were also many stalls selling food, drink and unhealthy treats. Several companies did free taster sessions (for example, for scooters and tennis coaching) and everyone was entertained by the dance routines of a contemporary dance troupe.
The weather was amazing, so most people stayed for the whole afternoon. Thank you to everyone who joined us on the day and a special thank you to everyone who helped out. We know that many of you contributed a huge amount of time and effort with the organisation, setting up and clearing up.
